Black and white photograph of a woman's cell at the Colorado State Penitentiary; metal trunk with wooden slates sitting next to the wall; has rope handler, two metal latches in front and a lock in the middle; next to trunk is a wooden dresser with a mirror and three drawers with metal handles and a lock in the middle of each; on top dresser is a long white cloth cover and (L-R) a paper reading: "Chocolate", a hat pin, a wooden box, a photo of an older man and woman in front with a younger woman standing behind them (victorian clothing), book, small white pillow, decorative jar with lid, photo of man at a rolltop desk, photo album, book, keys, brush and comb, hankerchief, letter; a bed with white, round, pole-like headboard, white pillows and sheets.
Museum of Colorado Prisons collection transferred from the storage at the Criminal Justice Training Center at the Abbey School in Canon City, CO to the Local History Center at the Canon City Public Library for preservation and archival storage. Henry M. Booth, instructor at the Criminal Justice Training Center, was the agent authorized to transfer collection.
